At an early age, he moved to Indiana, but was in Illinois a few years. He married Eliza A. Boyd, daughter of Hugh Boyd, in 1855 [on Nov. 4], and they were blessed by a son, Willard B., who survives. His first wife died and he married her sister Elizabeth in 1857 [on May 12]; they had 8 children, 2 sons and 6 daughters[: Mary Elizabeth, Eliza A., William H., Flora Mae, Ida Ann, Joseph T., Nora A. and Lou B.] One son and one daughter died in childhood." |
