Other	Age 89 years, 5 months, 10 days. "Born in Kentucky; came to Indiana with his parents [Levi and Margaret Seaton Whitaker] in 1832 or 1833. They lived near Samaria church, in the western part of the county. His mother died in 1835, and his father died 14 years later. The old homestead was maintained by Levi and his 2 sisters, Margaret and Mary. Margaret died in 1856 and Mary in 1865. Levi remained on the old homestead till May of 1888, when he went to live with his niece, Mrs. Mary Wilson, near Hall." "He was one of the pioneers of Johnson County, and had lived in Gregg Township for 5 years." [From the Martinsville Republican for Dec. 29, 1887: "Uncle Levi Whitaker was perhaps 83 last October. He was a great teamster. He and his father came to this county in 1833. His brothers Bland, Grafton and John are now all deceased."] Father of Martha B.
