Married first wife in 1783; they had 5 children: Thomas Jr., Elizabeth, Lewis Clock, and Solomon Amos, and John, who died in infancy. Wife Dorothy died Oct. 10, 1823 and was buried on the grounds of the family home place at Bearden, Tennessee. The family left that area to settle in Indiana in 1828. Married second wife, a widow and longtime Bearden resident; she had a son, Jonathan Coker. She died only five days after Thomas did.
