Other	Matilda, or Grandma Hammans as she was called, died 21 May, age 79. She was married to Pryor Hammans 3 March 1831, and to them were born 16 children, 8 sons and 8 daughters. "Found Dead -- Matilda Hammans, residing with her son Martin B. Hammans, was found dead in her bed Sunday, 3 miles east of this city. She was buried at the family burying grounds on the old Stockwell farm. She was the widow of Pryor Hammans, who was killed when a wagon turned over on him some 25 years ago."
