| Other | Age 74 years, 6 months, and 26 days. Born near Canterbury in Kent County, Delaware; died in Monrovia. Married first wife near Williamsville, Delaware, in January 1826. Priscilla died within 2 years. In 1828, he married his second wife, again in Delaware. "Meeting with severe afflictions in the family, in the loss of three of his children, he moved west in 1836. He, his wife and 2 children moved to Dublin, Indiana, where he eventually buried their third child. From here, they moved to Hendricks County, and lived there until the fall of 1858, when he removed to Monrovia. Of seventeen children born to him, but three survive. Two sons were lost in the Civil War. In 1860, his second wife died." |
