[From the Diary of Anna Stanton Harvey for March 12, 1894: "Evan Hadley died suddenly about noon. He had been to the farm, came home exhausted and laid down, spoke of his feet being cold and Mary Ann put a foot stone on the stove, occupied with dinner work, she heard him groan, on going to him he had turned over and was almost gone."]
