[Newspaper account gives her first name as Mary.] [From the Martinsville Republican for April 22, 1886: "A Note of Thanks from Dr. J.K. Vincent regarding the recent death of their beloved mother and grandmother...Dudley Vincent arrived from California Tuesday evening and is visiting his sister, Mrs. Samuel Tucker. He left here nearly 30 years ago, and this was his first time back. He had hoped to get back before his mother's death."]
