Other	Age 18. "Oran Whitaker died by suicide in North Carolina...Funeral services were held for Oran Whitaker Sunday in Ray Township...Oran A. Whitaker was the son of John S. and Alice Whitaker...As a child, he had an injury, but later in life, he wanted to attend the military academy at Ashville, North Carolina. On January 2, 1905, he was admitted, but something happened, and on January 10th, the school thought he had returned home, but later he was found hanging from a tree at Victoria Park. He had gone to class on a Tuesday and everything seemed to be OK but on Wednesday, he was missing and found hanging from a tree...The remains of Oran Whitaker passed through the city, over the Vandalia R.R., enroute to Paragon."
