Other John Dunbar Murdered -- Benjamin Davee and John Dunbar, living near Landersdale in Madison Township, got into an altercation regarding some campers along White River, near Waverly, and Davee hit Dunbar over the head with a monkey wrench. Dunbar walked a 1/4 mile to the room of John Miller, who called Mr. Haase, the sawmill operator, who called Dr. Magenheimer of Waverly, but Dunbar died. Davee is about 26 years old, is married (Nellie Copeland) and has 2 children, and Dunbar was about 30 years old. Davee is a veteran of the Spanish-American War and is the son of Jonathan Davee, Jr. Dunbar supposedly said some unkind words about Davee and his family and had a brick in his hand at the time of the altercation. "Fatal Affray at Landersdale -- John Dunbar was killed by Ben Davee in a neighborhood dispute. The undertaker was searching for relatives of Dunbar." "From Mooresville -- The body of John Dunbar was brought here and then taken to Oswell, Benton County, Indiana to be buried next to his wife."
