"His parents removed from Tennessee to Kentucky when he was 2 years old, where they lived until he reached manhood, when he came to Indiana and worked on a farm near the town of Mooresville. He was pleased with the area and returned to Kentucky and had his father to buy a farm 1 mile East of Mooresville where he worked for 2 years. He married Elizabeth Cox, who still survives him, on March 31st, 1835 [does not agree with Morgan County Marriage Records index date.] They had 11 children but only 5 are still living." Listed as a legal voter in Clay Twp., Morgan Co., Ind. in 1833.
