| Other | Age 81. "Mrs. Louisa Hicklin, an old resident of Morgan County, while in town, was killed by a freight train which was running at a high rate of speed." She and her husband had no children. Husband died Feb. 8, 1871. "Louisa Hicklin, daughter of Amer and Violet [Forkner] Jackson, was born in Stokes County, North Carolina in 1803 and died in Mooresville at the advanced age of 86. She had lived in the Mooresville area since 1825, and made a home with her older brother until [June 23] 1835, when she married Allen Hicklin, who died 19 years ago. She was the 5th child of a family of 16 children, 7 being half brothers and sisters." [Martinsville Republican, Dec. 7, 1882: "From Mooresville -- The strangest event of the season is the marriage of Mrs. Hicklin, at the ripe old age of 84, to the promising young man, Willard Passmore, of 24 summers.
