[From a letter from Elmina Moon to Owen Lindley, May 1854: "Silvester Dakin and Ann Hadley at last married on first day quarterly meeting in the 5th mo. so I guess Lueza will not be pestered with him any more. It was a slide off match with-out mamma's consent."] They had nine children together, all of whom survive. Husband Sylvester died May 24, 1877 in a terrible accident at his sawmill, when his foot became entangled in the belt; he was 46 years old. Buried in Dakin family plot, Mooresville Cemetery. |
